2018 Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals

New Orleans’ own LE Tonglet traveled to the California wine country and took home the Pro Stock Motorcycle crown at the 2018 Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals.  The Jefferson Parish fireman and second generation racer posted a winning run of 6.77 seconds at over 198 mph to outdistance Andrew Hines.  Tonglet’s teammate, alligator farmer Jerry Savioe of Cut Off advanced to the second round of competition while Luling native and former World Champ Angelle Sampey bowed out in the first round of competition.  Former Pro Stock World Champ and New Orleans resident Eric Enders advanced to the second round.
