2019 Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals Presented By Pennzoil
Competition was fierce in every category at the 2019 Mopar Express Lane NHRA Springnationals presented by Pennzoil. The race held annually at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, TX is the closest thing to a “home” race for Louisiana based race teams. Two Louisiana racers did exceptionally well. Ross Laris of Raceland won the title in Top Dragster and Brett Candies of Thibodaux took home runner up honors in Stock Eliminator in his Candies Family Motorsports Mustang. On the professional side of things, Brittany Force won Top Fuel for the second year in a row and her JFR teammate Robert Hight got the win in Funny Car. While she didn’t win the race, former New Orleans resident Erica Enders did set a new national speed record in Pro Mod, reaching 260 mph when she hit the quarter mile stripe.
